The RLS Foundation

One Step at a Time

As of June 2009 there is no longer an RLS Foundation fundraiser called “Moonlight Walk.” Instead, we are embarking on a new form of fundraising activity to take its place. It is aptly titled, One Step at a Time - which will increase awareness and raise funds for the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation.

Fundraising Activity:
One Step at a Time can be any awareness-raising activity (such as a walk, a bake sale, a carnival, an email chain, etc.). This will not be a set activity. Volunteers will enjoy total freedom of choosing an activity that works best for them.

Fundraising Goal: $1 will buy one footprint and one footprint will represent one mile. Each person's goal is to raise money to "walk" from their hometown to Rochester, MN where the RLS Foundation headquarters resides. People who have lesser distances to walk can "sister-up" with someone who has a greater distance (once they have reached their own goal). Money can be raised either through direct purchase of a footprint or through money raised at a fundraising activity as set by the volunteer.

If you would like to join our 2009 One Step at a Time efforts, please download the information needed to begin. The instructional packet below will better explain how to hold an event.
